My name is Afry

My name is Afry. Growing up near the beach and watching friends surf, inspired me to start surfing myself. I started as a young teenager and haven’t looked back. Taking lessons from friends and professional coaches, the waves became my passion. I was so inspired by the ocean and my own surfing journey that I started a career as a surf coach and became an accredited ISA surf coach. This path has seen my career develop in which I have taught many people to surf in both Weligama, South Sri Lanka and my home village of Arugam Bay. I am also a qualified lifeguard and have taken on further studies to train others the ISA curriculum. As surfing has been such a big part of my life, I decided to start my own Surf Camp, with lifetime friend Hubi, in 2020. Together, we believe we can offer you the best surf camp experience in Arugam Bay. We are working together with Surf Access Guest House and Hostel, where as a team we endeavour to cover all your needs, to provide a great experience.
